Which backpack to take?
Found a beautiful backpack at my favourite outdoor store in Victoria, Robinson’s, the Osprey Kyte 46. versus my old one that I had moved around with me for years but never used, a Gregory 60L.

There is not a huge selection of backpacks for women size S or XS but it is so important to have a fitting and get one that really fits your size! It’s definitely not “one fits all”! I really loved the Kyte, the colour, the material, the feel but it turned out to be very tight fitting all my belongings into the backpack. My old Gregory Jade however offers so much space (which I am not going to fill up of course) that it will be easy getting organized and loading and unloading my gear. So in the end I decided to return the Kyte, sadly but 28 + days hiking is not the same as a weekend trip.
Not only do I have several very lightweight packing cubes and some waterproof pouches for electronics and essentials, in case I get into a major downpoor but also quite a bit of weight carrying supplements like vitamin C, magnesium, amino acids, foot cream, blister bandages, and on and on goes the list. A lot of these things I am going to use up during my hike, so I am getting lighter as I go. And admittedly my toiletries are pretty heavy too although I am trying to keep everything to a minimum, small scale.

The compression bag for the sleeping bag is absolutely essential and the other little cubes make life a lot easier and organized. Ideally I don’t want to carry more than 10-12 kg including absolutely everything from clothes, to hiking poles, food, water bottles, rain gear, sun protection,……
Even clothing had to be weight to make final decisions on what to bring! All of this will be going through a final packing assembly the day before I finally leave Munich for Venice as there are a few things I will pick up in Munich before I am heading out.

Will keep you posted!
I ´ totally ecxited to follow your blog and am a part of your experiences.
