Good Bye Vancouver Island :)

Going to miss my dogs, my garden which was a first in years as I usually travel for work all summer, the long walks through the rain forest, and actually spending a summer at home with lots of opportunities of swimming in the lake and relaxing on the patio! When I come back summer will be over and we’ll be heading for fall and hopefully lots of rain and with it lots of mushrooms! Very punctually in September fall starts on Vancouver Island, just around Labour Day.

Not looking forward to 18 hours of wearing a mask but so far so good! Nice side effect is that the airport is basically empty. Once in a while when a plane arrives or departs there is a collection of people but so much space everywhere and empty seats.

A lot of stores are closed, even some duty free shops but enough choices for food and beverages. All feeling very relaxed really. The beautiful water features in the international departure area is all drained, empty rivers but the aquarium is still stunning.

And my plane just arrived! Pretty impressive and I had picked the perfect seat to see it come in, right in front of me! Realized how much I miss flying which is so much part of my job as a tour director.
