Bear Hill Hike – 22km

Our longest hike yet!

Roundtrip 22km, 611m altitude gain and 673 altitude loss.

We had fabulous weather, stopped at Dan’s Farm for a snack and drink, went up Bear Hill, down to Elk Lake and a big loop back to Brentwood Bay. The puppies are always happy to get their ration of snacks and water on such a long hike, and of course several swims in the lake.

Gorgeous view from Bear Hill, all the way to Mt. Baker in Washington State, US.

Less frequented hike, very few people, lots of peace. Great to watch the turkey vultures, eagles, and ravens from the top and get the same bird’s eyes view of the Saanich Peninsula before starting the long way back mostly on rural roads.
